Cooking Dinner For Myself

Have anyone thought that your parents or your maid had it easy to cook dinner for an entire family? I learnt how difficult was it to cook the hard way. A week ago my parents were working over time that night, they had given me money to buy my own dinner however i was just too lazy to go downstairs and buy my own dinner so i decided to prepare my own dinner.
I pondered a long time over what i wanted to eat. After sometime, i decided to cook something simple after all it was the first time cooking without the supervision and aid of my parents. I always wanted to cook my own dinner but i feared messing up the kitchen which was highly difficult to clean up after that. Finally, i decided to cook maggi  noodles with some chopped up vegetables and chicken meat.I prepared all the ingredients like the way i did with in the home economic classes while the water in the pot boiled. After i was done with the vegetables i wanted to put the vegetables into the boiling water however when i opened the lid of the pot a cloud of steam rose up, it was hotter than expected and i dropped the bowl vegetables, "Piang!'. the bowl shattered into a million pieces and only several pieces of vegetables left. However that did not dampened my spirits after the vegetables i wanted to put the maggi noodles but i the noodles slipped out of my hand and into the pot. Hot water splashed out in all directions. I was only slightly scalded which was a relief, by the time i had ended my cooking the kitchen was in a mess.
Now it was time for the 'reveal' or should i say the tasting test. The maggi noodles turned out pretty well, it  tasted all right not too salty or too bland but it didn't reach up to my parents'cooking standard i will try harder the next time. I wondered how my parents does it so well and make it look so easily. I finally learnt to appreciate having an adult around.
